What is the idCAST?

idCAST is a participatory monthly webzine that brings together the thought, work, and people bridging design, culture and technology. idCAST is a platform for those who are at the forefront of all design related fields, assisting the activities of a new and dynamic network of people dedicated to research and innovation.

idCAST aims to generate a stimulant environment targeted towards pioneering practices that encapsulate social values, design aesthetics and technological resourcefulness. idCAST intends to become a recognized source of content for designers, scientists, artists, social researchers or simply for anyone interested in innovative experimentation, and aims to grow into a useful tool of cultural expression and interchange

idCAST is a thematic magazine, produced through an open process of participation: the monthly webzine features five articles, revolving around a common topic. Two of these are interviews with prominent figures whose activity relates to the issued theme while the three other articles are selected and served from our HotKitchen.

The HotKitchen is an ever-changing, ever-growing posting and discussion zone where readers become contributors and take part in weaving the idCAST network. Each user can post relevant pieces of information, comment on others posts, and search through the database, editing and updating in this manner the totality of the stored material and thereby immediately turning into a contributor.

Once a month idCAST editors select three of the most valuable posts and feature them and their authors in the webzine, thus creating a blend of already established authors, with the fresh expression of up and coming innovators.

idCAST hopes to be a meeting place for those who stand on this 3-way bridge between design, culture and technology.
